Three options here that I listed in the discussion. I think all 3 are valid options that will offer us some interesting matchups every year.
1. 4 games against 4 more teams in the same conference and 2 against the opposite conference
2. 5 games against 1 opponent from each other division, and 1 "rivalry" matchup
3. 5 games against teams from the other division that finished in the same spot in their division as you and 1 "rivalry" game

I personally really like option 3, I think it will create great matchups every year and allow for some turnover for teams in the playoffs, and teams will know all off-season who they will play (except for 1 week) so everyone will be able to kind of plan for their matchups and see how they match up against those teams that they know they will be facing off with.

I will leave this open to the end of the day but with 15 votes for, it looks like we will be doing option 3, where for 5 weeks of non-division play teams that finish 1st in a division will play all other 1st place finishers and 2nd plays 2nd, etc, with a rival week (I think best case for rival week will be week 9 right before our 2nd set of divisional games).
This first season will obviously be set up like option 2, since we do not have any previous seasons to go off of, but moving forward in 2021 and beyond that will be how the schedule will be made
