Alright guys, so I should have had this posted a couple days ago, but I have been busy the last couple days and forgot to get to it, but here it is.
This is what we are doing this year for anyone who has opted out of the season or ends up on the Covid IR list this season in the NFL
We will also discuss what we are doing here for the playoffs
OPT OUTS:
1. The staff as a whole has agreed that having a list on each team's roster for players that have opted out of the season is the best option to handle those players
2. Any player placed on this list will have their contract removed from their respective team for the season, and the year total will not toll down!
3. Teams may sign players to replace them to any contract value that is in the rules *THIS IS IMPORTANT* it is up to YOU to keep track of that and be able to under both the $ and Y cap next off-season when I toll contracts down and move RFAs to their place on the roster. If you are over the cap next off-season at that point because of this, the staff will decide who is dropped from your team to make that work
*I am sure there will be questions here and clarification needed, so feel free to ask! I will do my best to get it sorted, and we have time before the season to make sure this is all good
Potential Guys on IR from Covid:
1. There will be unlimited IR spots for the year so teams can place anyone that has to go on the Covid-IR list can be placed there.
2. Players that go on that list will be treated the same as other IR guys so their contract will still count against your cap
3. If you sign a player to replace a player going on the Covid-IR and go to release that player, to activate the player you placed on the Covid-IR, it will be a free drop
4. 3 ONLY works for the player you signed after placing a guy on the Covid-IR, you can not release just any player and get a free drop on said player. The drop is only free if it is the guy signed after you placed a guy on the Covid-IR, I will keep track of that.
*This seems like the best, simplest way to do this. If anyone has questions, concerns, or other ideas, let me know
Week 13/Playoffs:
1. I am making the decision here to leave the schedule as is with the playoffs beginning week 13 and 12 teams being in the playoffs, running us to week 16 of the NFL regular season
2. I know this will not sit well with some guys in the league, but I do not feel it would be right to potentially screw the teams in the championship round by having players sitting out by playing our final week 17.
3. I also feel this adds even more emphasis on the regular season, if you own CMC, Godwin, Evans, Brady, etc this just puts the pressure on you to either be a top 2 team in your conference or have a strong enough to team to win without them.
*I will talk to anyone about this as it was my decision, but only if you come at me level headed and not wanting to just yell at me for doing something you don't like, we can all be adults here for a free league
