LHL POWER RANKINGS: Now that we are done with the first round of divisional games, we move onto non-division games and as we do that, we do so with a new #1 team in the rankings! The Chargers were knocked off by the Raiders and the Saints moved to 3-0 on the year and moved to the top spot in the LHL power rankings! With the chaos that happened during the week. What happens this weekend will be interesting to see, to see how it shakes things up
1. New Orleans Saints (3-0) +1 : We have a new #1 in LHL! With their 3rd straight win and the Chargers losing the Saints have grabbed the top spt in the rankings. The Saints weren’t able to top 200 points for the 3rd straight week, but did put up 181 points. With a well balanced day from the offense, they put up 85 combined points. Joe Burrow led with 17 points, then it was Aaron Jones (16.6), Will Fuller (15.4), Emmanuel Sanders (15.6), and Kareem Hunt (14.4) to round out the big performers for that side of the ball. The defense matched the offense with 83 points of their own. Harrison Smith led the way with a strong 23.65 points on the week, which was backed up by 14 from Malcolm Jenkins, 12 from Joe Thomas, and 10.5 from Akiem Hicks to round out a solid week for the team as a whole. Moving on to the non-divisional games, the Saints get a big challenge in their first matchup in this stretch of these games as they will face off with the Raiders. It is a battle of unbeaten teams as well, so can the Saints continue their impressive run to open the season?
2. Minnesota Vikings (3-0) +1 : Minnesota completed their sweep of their division rivals in the first set of divisional games by whacking Washington by nearly 100 points, with the final being 197.23 to 99.77. The offense alone would have won the week for the Vikings with 101.73 points on the week. Derrick Henry put up 27, Allen Lazard put up 26.4, and Kirk Cousins put up 20.93 to lead the way, the other 4 players had slightly muted days, but it did not hold the team back. The defense had a strong day as well, putting up 90 points themselves. Jordan Poyer was the standout with 19.5 points on the day, then to support him Darius Leonard had 16, Demario Davis had 13.5, B.J Goodson had 12.5, Eddie Jackson had 10.5, and Za’Darius Smith had 9.5. The Vikings will open the non-division portion of the schedule by facing off with the Jags, so a 4-0 start to the season seems well within range for the Vikings as long as their guys do their jobs.
3. Los Angeles Chargers (2-1) -2 : Despite a 201 point day from his team the Chargers had to settle for a tough loss to the Raiders, because they put up 234. It will be the first week the Chargers are not #1 in the Rankings. Despite Adams not playing, the offense was still able to put together 102.85 points on the week. James Conner led the way with 24.9, Despite 2 INTs Wentz had 21.25, Darrell Henderson had 19, Amari Cooper had 17.6, and CeeDee Lamb chipped in 11.6. The defense had a solid day with 81 points, but was not able to keep up with their counterparts which with Adams not playing is what cost them the week. Jeremy Chinn had 18, Brandon Graham had 14, and the pair of Jayon Brown and Antonio Winfield each had 12.5 to lead the way for the defense. The Chargers will be looking to bounce back and get back on track with a win over the Falcons this week, or will they stumble again and drop to 2-2 after a promising start?
4. Green Bay Packers (2-1) - : The Packers picked up another big win in week 3, narrowly missing out on 200 points on the week, beating the Bears 198.73-147.48. As a unit the offense put together 96.73 points, which was thanks to 21.2 from Tyreek Hill and 14 from all 4 of Derek Carr, Miles Sanders, Zach Ertz, and Mo Alie-Cox. OBJ and Marvin Jones chipped in 9.9 and 8.1 respectively. Big days from Tracy Walker (18), Zach Cunningham (16.5), and Josh Jones (12) led the way for the defense on their way to 77 combined points. The big day was also helped by a massive 25 points from their K. A top 10 battle with an undefeated Miami team is how the Packers will kick off their non-division schedule. Can they carry the momentum and hand the Dolphins their first loss, or move back to .500 on the season?
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-1) - : After the loss to the Saints in the top 5 battle in week 2, the Bucs bounced back very nicely with a 173.66-140.27 win over the Giants, moving them back over .500 at 2-1 on the season. The offense had a solid day putting up 88 combined points. Tyler Boyd accounted for a quarter of that put out with 22.5 points on the week and CEH added 18.4 to be the leading duo on offense. Both Phillips Rivers and Chris Carson added 10 points a piece. The defense also had a solid day putting up 69 points total. Jerome Baker and Adrian Phillips put in 12 points and Lawrence Guy and Marlon Humphrey chipped in 10 a piece to be the 4 guys leading the way on defense. The Bucs will draw the Broncos in week 4 looking to build on the win from last week and stay in touch with the Saints in the division. Can they do that or will they alternate wins and losses through the first 4 weeks and move back to .500?
6. New England Patriots (2-1) - : After a disappointing loss in week 1, the Pats have rebounded nicely with 2 straight wins, this win by only 2 points over the Dolphins for a final of 167.96-165.05. Despite a 0 from Mostert, the offense was still able to put up 94 points as a unit. Austin Ekeler finally looked like his 2019 version with a 31 point day and Allen Robinson seemed to like catching passes from Foles with 28. Lamar Jackson was the only other player over 10 points with 14 of his own. The defense had an ok day putting up 63 points combined which was led by 18 points from Chuck Clark and 13.75 from Eric Wilson, no one else was able to top 10 points on that side of the ball. Carrying good momentum into week 4, the Pats will turn their attention to a Bears team that has not looked great this season, so can the Pats keep it rolling and move to 3-1 or suffer another big upset and drop to 2-2?
7. Arizona Cardinals (3-0) - : Arizona came out victorious in the battle of 2-0 teams in the division and was able to complete the sweep of his division foes in the first 3 weeks, topping 200 points and winning 219.7-177.51. The offense smashed with 141 points on the week. Tyler Lockett was the biggest contributor with 39 points, Cooper Kupp with 25.7 and Mike Davis with 23 backed up Lockett nicely. Stafford (15.8), Kelce (14.7), David Johnson (12.6), and Josh Jacobs (10.3) finished off the offense getting all 7 guys over the 10 point mark. The defense only put up half as much as the offense, but did their job putting up 72 points. The trio of Carlos Dunlop with 14.5, Jeffrey Simmons with 10.5, and Elandor Roberts with 10.5 led the way for the unit. On the back of that huge week 3, the Cardinals will look to carry that into this week and knock off the Titans and move themselves to 4-0 on the season and avoid losing for the first time here.
8. Tennessee Titans (2-1) +1 : The Titans picked up a huge win in week 3 as they were able to knock off the Steelers, despite losing Saquon the week before, with a final of 161.98-129.05. The offense did the heavy lifting on the week putting up 114 of the team's points. Josh Allen led the way with 31 points, then Tee Higgins had his breakout game netting 21 points and Andy Isabella added 20 points to help lead the offense. Another 16.7 from Calvin Ridley and 14 from Antonio Gibson rounded out the day for the offense. The Titans were able to win the week despite the defense struggling mightily only managing 41.75 points. Montez Sweat led the way with 9.75 points, but no one else topped 7 points and 2 players, Matt Ioannidis and AJ Klein, had 0s on the week. After the important win, the Titans will turn to their matchup in week 4. The matchup is with the Cardinals, so the Titans will need to get their defense sorted this week to have a shot at knocking the undefeated Cardinals off, if not they will have to settle for going back to .500 on the season.
9. Los Angeles Rams (2-1) -1 : In a top 10 and undefeated battle the Rams were not able to keep up with the Cardinals, losing by 42 points. The offense put up 84 points which on any other week would be a solid number, but it was not enough to keep the team from losing big on the week. Dak had 28.76 points to lead the offense then Devin Singletary and JuJu had 16 a piece, and Kendrick Bourne had 10 points to make up the top scorers for the offense. It was a good day for the defense, as they won their side of the ball by putting up 81 points as a unit. Shaq Thompson had a monster day putting up 25 points and was backed up by 12 from Jaylen Smith and 11 from Jessie Bates. Only 7 players played for the defense, so the number wasn’t as good as it could have been, but all 7 that played put up at least 8 points. After a tough loss the Rams will be looking to bounce back this week by knocking off fellow 2-1 team the Steelers, who also lost last week. Can the Rams avoid a 2nd loss in a row or rebound this week with a much needed win?
10. Las Vegas Raiders (3-0) +6 : The Raiders continue to be impressive this season. This time it was knocking off the #1 team in the rankings, by 30+ points at that. The impressive win started on the offensive side of the ball as they put up 116 points, despite a 0 from Steven Sims. Russell Wilson put up 32 points, Keenan Allen put up 31 points, and both Robert Woods and Brandon Aiyuk put up 21 points to make up the majority of the offensive numbers. The defense also had a very strong day putting up 106 points as a unit. Karl Joseph led the way with 32 points, Tahir Whitehead added 17.5, K.J Wright chipped in 13.5, and Josh Bynes put up 10.5 to lead the defense. The other 4 guys on the team either scored 9 or 7.5 points. The Raiders will get the chance to knock off another #1 team this week as they are squaring off with new #1 the Saints. Can the Raiders strike gold 2 weeks in a row and move to 4-0 or finally fall due to the tough schedule so far?
11. Miami Dolphins (2-1) -1 : The Dolphins missed out on sweeping their division by 3 points this week against the Pats, instead having to settle for a 167.95-165.05 loss, which was their first of the season. The offense on the back of a breakout performance from James Robinson (30.9) had a solid day putting up 86 points. Godwin with 17.4, Teddy Bridgewater with 12.25, and Jonny Smith with 11.1 were the other key contributors for the offense on the week. The defense also had a good day putting up 70 points. The LB duo of Benardrick McKinney and Kyle Van Noy combined for 30 points, then the DB duo of Anthony Harris and Justin Simmons combined for 24.5 points as those 4 did all the heavy lifting. After such a tough loss, the Dolphins will now have to try and bounce back against a very strong Packers team. Can the Dolphins step up and win this big big matchup, or stumble down to .500 on the season after a promising start?
12. Pittsburgh Steelers (2-1) - : After opening the season with 2 big wins, the Steelers had a very rough week and had to settle for the loss against the Titans, losing by a final of 161.98-129.05. The offense did not have a good day, only putting up 54 points and 24 of that coming from Nick Chubb. DeVante Parker was the only other player to score over 10 points and 2 players ended up picking up injuries along the way. The defense had a good day though, putting up 72 points. Kyzir White put up 16.75 points, Keanu Neal put up 12.25, and Jordan Whitehead added 10.5 to lead the way for the unit. With a rough week 3 in the books, the Steelers will now have to look to bounce back this week against a strong Rams team. If they can not bounce back, the Steelers will find themselves at .500 after the week.
13. Baltimore Ravens (1-2) +4 : Baltimore had their best week of the season so far, topping 200 points en route to their first win on the season. They beat the Browns by nearly 100 points with the final of 201.88-116.61. The offense threw up 83 points on the week despite a 0 from Hamilton at WR. Dalvin Cook with 27.9 and Jared Goff with 23.03 were the biggest performers and made up most of the points the offense scored. The defense had a great day putting up 99.75 points total. Rashaan Evans led the way with 23.5 points, Blake Martinez had 17, Myles Jack and Jonathan Allen had 16.5 a piece, and Brian Burns had 11.25 to back up Evans with the big day. Now that the Ravens have picked up their first win of the season, they will look to build on that and start a winning streak by knocking off the Seahawks who also picked up their first win of the season. If they can not win, they will move back to 2 games under .500.
14. San Francisco 49ers (0-3) -3 : The 49ers have not had a good start to the season, after a 30 point loss to the Seahawks, the 49ers now find themselves at 0-3 as they leave the first set of divisional games. The offense had a good day putting up 77 points combined. Aaron Rodgers, Mike Evans, and Jerick McKinnon combined to score 52.5 of the 77 points. That total left the other 4 with the other 24.5 points, so not a good showing from those 4. The defense only had 5 guys score points on the week, but were able to put up 66 points combined, so all 5 scored 10+ points. Ultimately the 3 guys that did not do anything cost the defense and likely the team a shot at winning the week. Still in search of their first win, the 49ers will face off with the Browns who have also struggled a bit early this season, so can the 49ers take advantage of that, or loss again and move to 0-4?
15. Buffalo Bills (2-1) +3 : The Bills were able to bounce back after the week 2 loss, with a 12 point win over the Jaguars, which means 3 teams from the division are now 2-1 after the divisional games. The offense had a decent week putting up 68 points, which was mostly due to no huge performance and Tony Pollard only getting 0.5 on the week. Watson led the way with 15 points, then had help from Corey Davis (11.9), Adam Thielen (12.3), and Nyheim Hines (10.1). The Bills can thank the defense for their win as they put in 81.5 points on the week. Aldon Smith had a big 15.5 points, and Khari Wallis (12), Ugo Amadi (11.5), and Devin White (10.5) were the others that topped 10 points and were the big contributors for the unit. After moving back over .500, the Bills now face the team directly below them in the rankings this week, facing off with Washington. The question will be, can the Bills carry the momentum and move to 3-1 or will they do what they did the first two weeks and lose after winning?
16. Washington Redskins (1-2) -3 : After an extremely promising week 1 where the team was just short of topping 200 points, things have gone down hill quickly. Week 2 wasn’t bad points wise, but it was still a loss, then week 3 came and they could not even top 100 points and lost by nearly 100 points. The offense was only able to manage 42 points, with Jonathan Taylor leading the way with 13 points and Haskins, the only other guy over 8 points, with 10.92 on the week. The defense had a decent day, but it was still only marginally better than the offense as the unit was able to get 57 points on the week. No one on defense scored over 9.5 points, but inversely only 1 player scored less than 6 points, so the guys on the unit didn’t have a horrible day, just not a good enough day. After the rough week, they face off with a Bills team that seems to have figured it out a bit, so can Washington go back to what they were in week 1 and knock the Bills off, or continue to struggle and fall to 1-3?
17. Indianapolis Colts (1-2) -3 : It was a narrow 5 point loss for the Colts this past week against the Broncos, despite not having anyone going at RB with CMC out. The final for the matchup was 154.4-149.24, so it was a tough one to take for the team. With 2 players not scoring anything, the offense was held to 47 points on the week. Terry McLaurin led the way with 12.6, then Matt Ryan and Hunter Henry added in 10 points each to lead the way on offense. The defense had a strong day with 94.8 points on the week, it was what kept the Colts close. Okudah had 27 to lead the way, then 14 from Bobby Wagner, 13 from Jamie Collins, 12.5 from Jon Bostic, and 12 from Vonn Bell were also big contributors for the unit. The Colts might catch a break this week, as they will face off with the winless Giants. Can they overcome not having CMC again to move to .500, or will they lose again and hand the Giants their first win.
18. Seattle Seahawks (1-2) +2 : The Seahawks picked up their first win of the season on the back of a 194.31 put out from the team as a whole and won by 32 points over the 49ers. A strong 100 point day from the offense led the way for the team. All 3 of Tom Brady, DK Metcalf, and Mecole Hardman had 20 points to lead the offense. Zeke had 17 and Stefon Diggs added 14 to round out the offensive performance. The defense wasn’t as strong as the offense, but did enough putting up 60 total points with Johnathan Abram (17.6) and Nathan Gerry (12.5) leading the way for the unit with half the total. Had the duo of Ed Oliver and Alec Ogletree put up any points the team likely would have topped the 200 point mark. A 34 spot from their K was definitely a nice bonus. On the back of their huge week, can the Seahawks carry the momentum into week 4 against the Ravens and move to .500 on the season, or fall back to the struggles from weeks 1 and 2 and lose again?
19. Denver Broncos (1-2) +2 : The Broncos picked up a much needed win with their week 3 win over the Colts, by a final of 154.4-149.24. The offense had a good week putting up 82 points. Michael Gallup led the way with 27.8 points, Kyler joined him above the 20 point mark with 22 points of his own. Greg Olsen with 11 and Jerry Jeudy with 10.5 were the other 2 guys on offense to top 10 points. The defense put up 60 points, despite 2 guys not scoring a single point on the week. Aaron Donald had an impressive day putting up 21.5 points. The LB duo of Eric Kendricks and Josey Jewell added 26 combined points to help lead the way for the defense as well. After picking up the much needed win, the Broncos will now face off with a strong Tampa team, can they keep it rolling and knock off a top 5 team in the rankings, or see their win not build into a streak and move to 1-3 on the season?
20. Atlanta Falcons (1-2) -5 : Atlanta had a decent week putting up 155 points, but had settle for a 26 point loss to the now #1 team in the rankings. The offense had a good day considering they did not have John Brown getting them anything, as they put up 79 total points there. Jimmy Graham had a monster day with 24 points, then Brees had a strong day with 22. Gurley with 15 and Robby Anderson with 10 rounded out the rest of the notable offensive performances for the week. The defense had a good day with 72 points and that was despite 2 guys not scoring any points, so combine that with Brown not scoring anything on the week and you might have had an upset for the Falcons had those 3 scored points. Donte Jackson had a huge performance with 31.9 points on the week and was backed up by 12 a piece from Nicholas Morrow and Isaiah Oliver. After making a big trade this week to trade away 3 big pieces of their offense and coming off a loss, the Falcons will now face off with former #1 the Chargers this week, so can they pull an upset this week, or settle for their 3rd loss on the season?
21. Cleveland Browns (1-2) -2 : The Browns had a rough week 3, losing by 85 points and managing 116 points for themselves. It was not a great week for the offense as they were only able to put up 57 points, but were held back a bit by Fells scoring a 0. DeAndre Hopkins had a strong showing putting up 23.7 points as did Cole Beasly who put up 16. Cam Newton was the only other player of note with 10 points on the week. The defense did not fare any better than the offense did as they were only able to score 55 points total. With 35 of those points coming from Myles Garret and Shaquil Barrett combined, Vita Vea was the only other player to score over 4.5 points as he put up 7.75 on the week. The Browns do get the winless 49ers this week, so they might be able to bounce back and get back to .500 on the week, but will have to do so without Kittle as they traded him mid-week and with Foles at QB with Newton out for the week, can they do that, or lose another game and move to 1-3 on the season?
22. Jacksonville Jaguars (0-3) - : The Jags continue to struggle to open the season, but did look the best they have this season, giving the Bills a run for their money in week 3, the final was 158.22-146.55. Mahomes contributed almost half of the offense's 76 points with 37 of his own on the week. Scotty Miller added in 11 to be the next best player on offense, and Irv Smith was the man that held the offense back as he did not score a single point. The defense did not have a strong day as they were only able to put up 57 total points. Joe Schobert (12.5), Tre Boston (10), and Damien Wilson (9.5) were the key players for the week for the defense, but were not able to lead them to a better total point total. Will the Jags be able to build on their best performance so far and pull a huge upset over the Vikings, or just not have enough fire power still and drop to 0-4 on the season?
23. Chicago Bears (0-3) - : Chicago had their best point total of the season in week 3, but still lost by 51 points to the Packers, with a final of 198.73-147.48. The offense was only able to put up 62 points, partially due to 2 guys not scoring a point on the week. Burkhead had a monster game with 34.8 points, and Baker was the other notable performer with 12.78 points. The defense outscored the offense, but also did not have a strong week as they put up 65 points. Bradley McDougald led the way with 15 points and Avonte Maddox backed him up with 11 points to be the leaders on defense. Chase Young went out early in his game so had to settle for a 0 on the week, which did not help the defense. The Bears will have another tough matchup this week as they have to face off with a very strong Patriots team, so can they build on their best performance and pull off a big upset, or lose again and fall deeper into the hole and move to 0-4?
24. New York Giants (0-3) - : The Giants had a decent week by putting up 140 points, but still lost by 33 points to the Bucs. Thanks to a monster 46 points from Alvin Kamara the offense was able to put up 80 points on the week, but that was as far as it went for notable performers as no one else topped 10 points. The defense was almost the same as the offense, but they only put up 55 points total which was led by 19.5 from Chris Jones and 11 from Leonard Williams, they had 2 players not score a single point. The Giants might have a very strong chance to pick up their first win on the season, as they will be going up against a Colts team that is also not off to a hot start this year. Can they take advantage of that, or fall again and move to 0-4?
