A big thing this league will have every off-season pre-RFA bidding will be contract extensions, this vote will decide how deep the RFA pools will be
1. Teams have 3 extension years to be used on 2 players, but can only use 2 years on 1 player. 1 year adds $2 to a players contract and 2 years adds an additional $1 so a total of $3 for a 2 year extension. Can be used on player, does not have to be 0 year guys
2. Teams have 5 years to be used on 5 players: 1 year would cost $2, 2 years would cost $4 total, and 3 years would cost $5 total. Teams can only extend a player up to 3 years. Can be used on any player, does not have to be 0 year guys
3. 1 tag year, on a player with 0 years left, that adds $3 and teams can not tag the player the next year.
4. Other (Post in replies what it would be)

I get that people will want 5 years because it will help teams keep their guys on their rosters.
For the health of the league, I believe option 1 would give teams enough extension power to keep their absolute top players, while keeping some solid talent in the RFA pool every off-season.
This would help guys feel like they can improve their teams outside of the rookie draft.

I'm just concerned that RFA won't have many good players if teams are allowed to extend their 2 best players every year. I think a 1 year extension, like the franchise tag, finds the right balance between allowing teams to keep their best players and not diluting the RFA pool.

No point in playing dynasty if you can’t keep the players you drafted 🤷

No point in playing dynasty if you can’t keep the players you drafted 🤷 I definitely get the point you are making here. I want teams to keep their building block guys for as long as possible. That’s why I voted for the 3 year/2 player option, you can work that system well especially when rookies get 5 year deals here. We are probably 2 off seasons away from seeing any real talent hitting our RFA system with this start up draft and how many contract years we have, so teams are pretty set with their core guys for 3-4 years here and then probably even longer with the extensions. The only reason I didn’t vote for the 5 year is because if we never seen any top talent in the RFA system bottom teams will find it very very difficult to rebuild and it will likely lead guys to leaving because they feel they have no shot of ever getting out of the bottom.

It also rewards teams who draft bad, while punishing teams who draft well. I only voted for 3 years because I don’t want 1 year to win and it’s close (which I don’t know why) im all for 5 years.

13 votes, I understand this one isn't pressing since it won't affect anything until next year, but it is important

Let me understand, every year we have 2 decided 2 keep our top 2 player for a few years. We could lose our other players and have 2 use bidding bucks 2 get the players back on the roster. If that is correct, I want to keep my best 2 players or more for as long as I can. It seem we are treating this process as NFL free agencies and have the right to get new players yearly. I vote for having my best 2 or more players for 5 year (the longest time). I want 2 build a winning team and maintaining it.

The way I am reading your post it sounds like you think we will only be keeping 2 guys every off-season. That is not the case. In the inaugural draft we will be able to give Vets 3 years then in the rookie draft we will be able to sign them up to 5 years. This rule is to extend contracts, not pick 2 guys to keep for 2 or 1 year, or whatever the vote ends up being
