This will likely be the biggest talking point of our rule's discussions this off-season. The options that have been floated so far are
1. Tweaking down INT/FR yards and other minor tweaks
2. Going to the IDP123 format expandtheboxscore.com/nfl/idp-fantasy-football-123-scoring/ I have joined a league on Sleeper that uses this scoring format and can give out any information on it you guys need
I believe these are the only two options we have had discussions on, and should be the ones we focus on, but if there is something else someone wants to bring up, please feel free to do so! I want the absolute best option going forward

I understand where guys are coming from that think this will be a huge change and will alter guys values a lot. Totally valid.
The reason I am bringing this new scoring system to the table is because it adds points to the IDP side of the ball and brings them almost to a level playing field with offense, with our offensive scoring and IDP123 there were only 3 DPs in the top 20 in scoring last season, so offense still carries your team more. I know some guys don't think IDPs should be able to score as much as guys on offense, but to me defense is just as fun as offense and I think those guys make huge plays that deserve points.
I also believe that this is the base format that leagues will start to use more frequently and fantasy sites will be able to use it to have rankings and trade values to help owners. Obviously I would be open to slightly tweaking the points a little, but I really like where the scoring is with the IDP123 set up.
I will fully be fine if we do not go with it. I am just making my case for the scoring system

No problem with the format itself. The problem is changing to this after we’ve already drafted our teams. Can only speak for myself, but this new format would have changed the way I drafted.

I as fine with the scoring last year. I thought the main issue was kicker scoring

I’m good with how the scoring was except for the kickers.

I'm good with our current setup, aside from defensive return yardage. I know it's rare, but the large INT/fumble return plays shouldn't garner as many points as they do (there were a couple individual INT return plays I recall that scored in the 30-40 point range, and I know one specifically scored 39 points and didn't even result in a TD). I believe the highest single offensive play wouldn't even eclipse 20 points (99yd TD Rec = 19.9 points, I believe). A single defensive play should reward similarly.
Presently we reward .4 points per yard gained - my opinion is this should mirror offense, and go down to .1/yard. The play I previously referred to would score 12 points with this scoring format (18 if it were a TD - which would be close to the highest offensive play).
I understand people's point with regard to their strategy for drafting their teams, but I'd assume that strategy was based more towards the predictable statistics (tackles, sacks, FF, INTs, etc.). I doubt people were banking on the rarity of those instances resulting in large yardage gains.

I have to agree with the others the int/fum return yards needs to be changed some, I am pretty sure the other league is set to .1/per yard which equals 1 point per 10 yards of return.
As far as the new scoring system it doesn't matter to me either way, but I will say with sleeper the only issue I found was that the playoffs were limited to the top 8 teams in the league. So unless I was looking at the settings wrong (which I could have been) that was the only issue I found. I will say however I did like the interface for sleeper a lot better than Fantrax, to me it did seem a lot more user friendly and had a lot more information.
