Currently the order of tie breakers is
1. H2H vs all teams tied with 2. Most points scored 3. Fewest points scored against
On fantrax there are also
Division Record Most Wins in an entire season (dumb they even have that listed)
I think we talked briefly in the group chat about possibly tracking records vs common opponents
I want to talk about this quickly and see if we think anything should change here.

I think H2H record should remain the #1 option. For #2 and #3, I feel like a good idea might be to do point differential and division record, but I don't have a strong preference for which should be first. This would essentially combine the current #2 and #3 options - points scored minus points scored against - then add division record.
Just an idea.

Wouldn’t it be more reasonable for the #3 tiebreaker to be most points scored against? Because right now, it’s set up so that whoever had an easier path gets the tiebreaker. Seems like if you had a tougher schedule you deserve the tiebreaker.

Seems like if you had a tougher schedule you deserve the tiebreaker. I wouldn't be opposed to this. Certainly does seem like it makes a little more sense, especially given our schedules are set up where division winners face each other so those 6 teams should likely have a harder schedule

I think I will make a poll tomorrow with these 2 suggestions and our current set up to vote on

Overall Record H2H Total Points Scored
That’s likely all you would need, because chances 2 teams would score exactly the same over the course of a full season are pretty slim.
Total points scored is more of an indicator of which team is the best in a fantasy league, as the entire goal is to score points.
But just in case 2 teams had the same exact record, hadn’t played each other (no H2H), and score exactly the same number of points, then you still you need something else for that 0.01% chance. I propose strength of schedule (TOTAL POINTS SCORED BY OPPONENTS).
OVERALL RECORD H2H TOTAL POINTS SCORED STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE

I agree H2H is a good starting off point. I'm fine with Division/Conference record being in the order, too. I don't think Points Against should be a category, as that's something you have no control over. If we need another category after H2H, Conf. Record, Division Record, I recommend something like Total Offensive Points For, or Total Defensive Points For. Or narrow it down to a particular position? Just anything that we (essentially) have some sort of control over.
But, like Jordan said, unlikely we'd get surpass the first couple of categories. But if we did, I'd hate to miss the playoffs on something I have zero control over.

In my strength of schedule scenario (extremely unlikely to be used) I think it shows who had the harder path by looking at opponents points scored. The team who had the most scored against over the course of the season would be the winner in this scenario because they faced the tougher opponents. Again, this would only be used after total points scored being an exact tie, which is incredibly unlikely.
