The NFL seems pretty set on going to 17 games during the season, which would add a playable week for us. My question to the league would be, do we want to add a 13th game to the schedule, or leave things as is? I am 100% ok either way.
1. Leave schedule 12 games
2. Add a week 13. A game against a non-division opponent

I like the idea of leaving regular season as is, but adding a week to the championship game. A compilation score of weeks 15 & 16. Adds a little extra to the game, plus makes it less likely the game is won by one crazy performance of a single player.

Do we currently play the last week of the season? I don't recall. Some leagues don't due to the increased chance teams choose to rest a player(s).

We will leave week 18 open, the league voted for that and I do not like playing championship rounds when teams could be missing a number of key players. I also don't know that I want to make the championship 2 weeks, the regular season and other rounds of the playoffs are decided in 1 week and so is the NFL, so I think making the final 2 weeks would be a big, unnecessary change.

Yeah week 18 open, but he was talking about a 2 week championship in weeks 15 and 16. That would leave both 17 and 18 open.

I meant 16 & 17 for championship, still leave 18 open. I agree, always leave last week of regular season open. I understand the idea to mirror real-life, but in real football luck isn't as much a factor as fantasy. I was just thinking the second week minimizes the luck factor of an unforeseen breakout performance, or bad luck from an early-game injury. Either way, I have no problem with the 1 week, but just wanted to throw the thought out there.

With a vote of 13-3 we will be adding a week 13 to the schedule.
Anyone want to make a suggestion for how we decide who teams play in that added game?
The other 6 non-division games are set with a "rivalry" game and 5 matchups against the 5 other teams that finished in the same spot in their division as you.
